Hello fellow Geography class bloggers! This week I will be talking about some current issues of the UAE. Most of the issues comprise of natural sources. For example, acid rain is a big deal there. It contains high levels of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide. The acid is so powerful that it can destroy freshwater lakes and the fish inside them and kill many plants. Also, as you might of picked up in past blogs, the oil industry is huge in the UAE. There have been some small oil spills which have polluted some of the beaches. If the people of the UAE want to make their country better, they need to be more environementaly aware. Hope you enjoyed this week's edition of my blog.

Wow Sam your blog is so interesting! I didn’t know that the oil industry was so big there. I hear that a lot of countries are having problems in their economy. I know France’s economy is not doing too well. Hopefully their new president will help change that. He is currently spending a lot of time in Germany. Hopefully things will turn around. Can not wait to read your next blog!
ReplyDeleteThat is very interesting Sam. I enjoy your blog a lot. I knew that the oil industry is huge and that there are some oil spills but I did not know that they have lots of acid rain. The economy of China is doing pretty well because every thing was made there. I cannot wait for your next blog.
ReplyDeleteSam those are some very interesting issues! I knew that the acid rain was starting to become a bigger deal, but it is interesting how it is really effecting your country, the UAE. It is also very interesting about the oil spills. It seems to be that your country's issues focus around more environmental, my country, Spain's issues have focused more around political and economical. It also seems like both of our countries need a little bit of luck, hope and work for things to look better! I enjoyed reading your blog this week again Sam, can't wait for next week!
