Tabbuleh |
Hello all you grade 9 geography students! This week will be blogging about the food of the UAE. Food is one of my favorite things, and so it makes sense that I will be blogging about it. When I started reading and seeing pictures about the food they have there, my mouth started watering. UAE doesn't really have it's own food, but the type of food they eat is called "gulf food" Lebanon also eats this "gulf food" and other participants are other Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman and Qatar. Some common foods here that originate from there are hummus (chick pea dip/spread) and Pitta bread (sometimes unleavened). Some less common ones include Tabbuleh (salad with couscous, tomatoes, onion, parsley etc.), Moutabel (dip mad of aubergine or eggplatn), Warak enab (stuffed vine leaves) and many others. Anyway, I hope you now have a little bit of knowledge of gulf cuisine. See you never again.

That is really interesting Sam! Food does seem like an interesting topic to blog about. in grade seven we had a girl from our class bring in an Arab dish. It was quite interesting to taste. I have really enjoyed reading your blogs over the semester. Even though I still have no clue where the UAE is or what it stands for, it was still interesting to learn about another culture!
